You will be based in England's loveliest and liveliest city by the sea, Brighton is fun, cosmopolitan and uniquely eccentric all year round.

Purpose:

The task of the team as a whole is to influence EU and international policy, so as to minimise the risk to the UK occupational pensions system and to The Pensions Regulator's regulation of it.

The main purpose of the role is to provide support to The Pensions Regulator's presence in CEIOPS, as it transforms into EIOPA where important decisions for the UK will be determined. In particular to manage the project work carried out in the occupational pensions committee, and other relevant working groups, and to get to grips with the papers, issues and deliverables that the working groups generate.

Some travel may be required in this role.

Core accountabilities:

  • To provide complex and time driven administrative and project support to the UK participants in the working groups in CEIOPS
  • To develop briefings, presentations and speaking notes for external meetings on European and international issues
  • To organise study visits and conferences for the regulator's European and international visitors
  • To build up a knowledge base of other Europe and international countries’ occupational pensions systems so as to deliver comparative work in this area
  • To support stakeholder meetings and events, both domestic and European/international.
  • To provide evaluation and analysis of European elements of regulatory strategy
  • To ensure our approach in Europe and international is in line with the regulator's policy strategic direction and best practice on other European and international policy is fed back to The Pensions Regulator.
  • To contribute to work on wider CEIOPS issues as required, to tight deadlines
  • Ability to carry out detailed questionnaire completion and to evaluate and verify the UK position in a variety of international reports.
