MI Analyst

    Background and purpose:

    Responsible for the quality assurance and management of statistical data and baseline information relating to financial performance across the deliver directorate.

    Core accountabilities:

    • Define, design and manage all KPIs and MI to produce and interpret reports and insight for the practices (in relation to operational dynamics, effective resource allocation and practice based workload analysis and performance management )
    • Provide advice and constructive challenge to colleagues in relation to data and performance management metrics
    • Liaise with the practices to define and deliver on data quality requirements and validation procedures.
    • Ensure effective data cleansing frameworks and tools are in place and optimised
    • Analyse and manipulate large amounts of data producing presentable, easily understandable reports.
    • Work in partnership with the management teams across the practices and with the wider organisation to monitor, review and analyse the impacts of the risk drivers on operational reporting
    • Select appropriate statistical, interpretive and reporting approaches, fit for a variety of stakeholders
    • Participate in the preparation and review of the business data model
    • Produce data maps to ensure that current and future business processes and aligned data requirements are fit for purpose
    • Provide financial management for the practices
    • Co-ordinate all procurement processes, ordering and payment for the practices
    • Deliver improvement projects as commissioned by management colleagues

    Essential criteria:

    • Demonstrable knowledge of performance management methodologies and processes
    • Good working knowledge of database technologies to query standard databases
    • Proven capability of using MS Office products such as Visio and Excel
    • Proven experience of accounting principles / spreadsheet production / statistical analysis such as reliability, regression, analysis of variances (ANOVA), control chart theory and applications, sampling theory and graphical analysis.
    • Knowledge of and ability to select appropriate statistical and performance management approaches
    • Project management principles and techniques
    • Understanding of how to use different problem-solving approaches
    • Strong knowledge of project management principles and techniques
    • Exposure to case management and tracking processes (desirable)
