Role: Business analyst, risk and funding
Objectives
To work as part of a multi-functional team providing business and financial expertise, with particular emphasis on assessing the adequacy of recovery plans and the production of clearance and withdrawal applications.
Roles & responsibilities
- Providing business/financial expertise to ensure the successful outcome of cases
- Supporting effective negotiation in disputes concerning pensions liabilities in corporate transactions in order to protect members' benefits
- Reviewing recovery plans with emphasis on viability and cash management
- Developing and deploying scheme funding plans for high-risk schemes
- Taking a leadership role in business negotiations on recovery plans
- Investigating and escalating high-priority issues as required
- Educating and mentoring case managers and team members on business assessment and practices
- Risk-based decision making at an operational level
- Educating pension schemes on improved scheme administration
- Feeding back successful scheme specific funding approaches
- Identifying and developing relevant improvements to team processes
- Contributing to knowledge management process
Experience
- Extensive knowledge of corporate and financial management
- Ability to rapidly assess a business operation, financial structure
- Broad industry experience in several sectors, at corporate advisory or senior management level
- Knowledge of the pensions industry and regulations an advantage
- Track record of success

Qualifications
- BSc/BA (Hons) Degree or MBA
- Financial or banking qualification
