Step 2 Check that nothing has changed

You must do this 3 months before your staging date

You have told us previously that you don’t have any staff who you must put into a pension scheme on your staging date.

You should now check again how much each member of staff will be earning and how old they will be on your staging date. This will tell you whether or not your duties have changed.

If you find that any of your staff will be aged between 22 up to state pension age and will be earning over £833 a month or £192 a week, you must put them into a pension scheme on your staging date.

You must now check to see if anything has changed by using our Duties Checker.

I still have no staff to put into a pension scheme

If nothing has changed and you still don’t have any staff who must be put into a pension scheme on your staging date, continue to the next step of this guide What to do on your staging date as you still have other tasks to carry out.
