Registering new schemes

All schemes that have been registered with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and have more than one member must register with the Pensions Regulator.

It's a legal requirement for all schemes to register with us within three months of registering with HMRC. (For more on how to register with HMRC, please visit the HMRC website.)

  • It's the trustees' responsibility to register occupational schemes with us
  • It's the manager's responsibility to register personal pension schemes with us

You can now register occupational schemes via Exchange.

Once you've registered your scheme you'll be able to update your scheme details online at any time.

If you're registering a personal pension scheme, you still need to print and complete a PDF version of the Registering a personal pension scheme form and send it to us - you'll be able to do this online soon.
