I would like to know of the 80,000 people in the UK that you estimated have transferred out of their defined benefit (DB) pension schemes in the year to 31 March 2017, how many people transferred to defined contribution (DC) plans as a result of individual requests, rather than 'bulk' moves.

If possible, I would also like this data for each of the most recent five complete years, broken down by equal twelve-month periods. Please use a year end which is most convenient.

If you are unable to provide five years of data, please provide three years of data, otherwise please provide data for the last year.

I can confirm that we do not hold the information you have requested.

We collect data which relates to total transfers out of DB schemes and the number which have required advice. We separately collate information on whether a scheme has carried out a bulk transfer exercise. However, where a scheme has carried out a bulk transfer exercise do not record the number of members involved, only that this has occurred.
