Response

Duty to confirm or deny whether TPR holds the information requested

I can confirm that The Pensions Regulator (TPR) holds the information you have requested.

Information we are able to supply

  1. What budget has been allocated for ICT technical training from 1 April 2015 to 31 March 2016?
A budget has not yet been allocated to ICT training for 1 April 2015 to 31 March 2016 as no forecast has yet taken place. So far, the ad hoc ICT training requests have taken £3,201.90 from the 2015/16 corporate learning and development budget.
  2. Can you please provide details of the ICT managers that will purchase ICT technical training?
TPR purchases training through our Civil Service Learning (CSL) mandated framework. ICT managers do not purchase training directly. All training requests come through Human Resources for budget approval. If the requested training is not available on our mandated framework, Human Resources work with the ICT manager who is requesting the training to source it through a Single Tender Process via procurement and Finance approval.
  3. Please can we have a list of RFQ (Request for Quotes) for any training that will be purchased within the coming 12 months?
Human Resources run all opportunities through the civil service framework as per TPR’s mandate, so no RFQs are issued for training services.
  4. Is there ICT technical training required to be purchased within a certain time-frame?
TPR will undertake technical training, although the training and development plans have not been finalised for this financial year. Potential areas which are being considering are; Service Desk, Blackberry BES, VMWare, Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft SCCM / Systems Management, Telephony and Cloud training. TPR is looking at the following software upgrades:

    • introduction of Microsoft Dynamics Marketing for campaign management and social media
    • introduction of Documentum for document management
    • introduction of Microsoft Office 365
    • introduction of a time and attendance management software application
    • introduction of a new IT service management software application
  6. Can I have a list of any hardware upgrades planned for the new financial year?
The Regulator is planning upgrades in the following areas:
    • implementing two servers
    • adding extra storage capacity on our SAN
