Which countries have approached The Pensions Regulator (TPR) for information, advice or guidance on how to establish an automatic enrolment style scheme in their respective countries?
I can confirm that we do not hold the information you have requested.
Duty to provide advice and assistance
Whilst we have not been approached by other governments for information, advice or guidance on the establishment of automatic enrolment, we have spoken in various countries to provide information on our role in the implementation of automatic enrolment and its success to date as part of a more general overview on the UK landscape.
For instance, our Executive Director for Automatic Enrolment spoke to a pensions conference of the World Bank approximately three years ago and, more recently, at a conference organised by the Arab Monetary Fund in Abu Dhabi. The focus of these conferences was to provide information on our experience of automatic enrolment and no advice or guidance was given. We have also spoken to pension supervisors in other countries as part of ongoing information exchange about pension developments in our jurisdictions.
It is also worth highlighting that it is not our role to, nor would we give advice or guidance on establishing automatic enrolment in other countries.
