Request

Could you please let us have the following information about UK workers who have already been automatically enrolled into a workplace pension?

  1. How many workers with earnings below £10,600 have opted in or joined a scheme?
  2. What is this figure when expressed as a percentage of total workers in the UK in an automatic enrolment scheme?
  3. How many of these opt ins or joiners are in pension schemes set up on a 'net pay arrangement' for tax relief?

Response

Duty to confirm or deny whether TPR holds the information requested

Following liaison with the relevant department managers, I have established that The Pensions Regulator (TPR) does not hold the information you have requested, as we neither collect nor hold any information relating to the rates of UK workers who opt in to their occupational pension scheme.
