The appointments have been made for differing periods to avoid them all ending on the same date.
All seven members of the panel were appointed for an initial three years, which ended on April 5 2008. The reappointment starts on the 6 April 2008.
The Determinations Panel of the Pensions Regulator was created by the Pensions Act 2004 to make certain regulatory determinations on behalf of the regulator. Its purpose is to ensure the separation of the regulator's investigation and decision-making functions.
Under the terms of the Pensions Act 2004, appointments (and reappointments) to the panel are made by the regulator after nominations by the chair of the Determinations Panel.
