Writing to workers

Article posted: Thursday 23 August 2012

Over the last few weeks, we have been sending out letters to all of our employees. We have been informing those who are already members of a qualifying scheme about the changes to work-based pensions, and that they will not be affected by these changes.

We also set out personalised illustrations of the levels of employer and employee contributions based on their own salary and circumstances so they could get a real idea of how the scheme will work for them.

At the same time, we also wrote to those employees who will be affected, to let them know that they will be automatically enrolled into the Civil Service Pension Scheme. We also set out personalised illustrations of the levels of employer and employee contributions based on their own salary and circumstances so they could get a real idea of how the scheme will work for them. We used DWP's templates for these letters and illustrations, and the latest version of the detailed guidance for employers to make sure that all employees received the information needed from their employer under the duties.

We have also set up a dedicated email address for any queries employees might have about the upcoming changes. So far, we have received some questions from employees about their individual circumstances, and our Finance and HR teams have been working together to answer their queries.
