Role

The Network and Telephony Engineer is part of the Infrastructure Team within the Corporate Services Directorate. This role is responsible for the administration, development and support of TPR’s hybrid data network (Azure IAAS cloud and on-premise) and connectivity to SAS / PAAS services, specifically Microsoft Teams and M365.

The role will provide administration and support of business as usual (BAU) operations and technical support of strategic projects. Primary focus areas will include:

  • Microsoft Teams: Meetings, collaboration, telephony, mobile services, modern workplace design, Anywhere365 Contact Centre
  • Microsoft Azure: Supporting and developing the cloud network architecture, network virtual appliances, ExpressRoute, analysing and optimising data flows
  • Traditional Data networks: LAN, WLAN and Firewalls

Responsibilities

  • Assist the line manager in the effective day-to-day management of the hybrid data network services and Microsoft Teams.
  • Deliver and maintain the technical infrastructure that underpins operational services.
  • Ensure tasks and support incidents are prioritised and resolved in accordance with business requirements.
  • Provide technical subject matter expert resources for business projects.

Essential and desirable criteria

Essential

  • Strong experience of Azure network configuration and support including ExpressRoute, vNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, NG firewalls and the use of native monitoring tools.
  • Strong hands on configuration and support experience of Microsoft Teams (meetings, collaboration platform, direct routing via session border controllers (SBC))
  • Strong experience of LAN/WAN networking design and configuration including Cisco routing and switching, ASA firewalls and Aruba wireless infrastructure.
  • Strong hands on experience of supporting modern call centre services, preferably with Anywhere365 contact centre.

Desirable

  • Azure certifications (Azure AZ104 certification or higher).
  • Experience of Microsoft DevOps, Pipelines and Source Control.
  • ITIL V3/V4 Foundation certified with experience of working within OSA, SLA, Change Control.
  • Cisco ISE.
  • Solarwinds experience.
