Role

SSRA is a dynamic and agile technology change programme, introducing new systems that will support regulatory activity in the business. 

The Product Owner will lead the Data Migration delivery workstream, planning and executing the data migration strategy to migrate data from multiple legacy systems to a new Dynamics365 CRM solution.

This will include the management of resources on a day-to-day basis, organising, prioritising and allocating tasks, collaborating and communicating across the programme and the business, making workstream decisions about risks, issues and dependencies and resolving any conflicts that arise from these.

Responsibilities

You will:

  • lead and be key decision maker for the Data Migration workstream
  • be responsible for the allocation of tasks to team members (including developers, business analysts, database administrators and testers), directing and overseeing their work
  • be accountable for the technical implementation of the data migration strategy, building plans and product backlogs for the development and execution as well as for activities such as data cleansing and validation
  • ensure proper alignment with other SSRA workstreams and BAU functions, tracking and managing technical and business dependencies
  • be responsible for overseeing workstream governance, ensuring that the correct forums are engaged at the right time and in the right way for decisions and information, including presenting papers at forums (e.g. Programme Board) in person, as required
  • ensure that the data migration approach and execution is compliant from a data protection and information security perspective and liaising with corporate governance and the BAU IT function to obtain necessary approvals
  • lead the planning increment activity for the workstream that delivers the plans and product backlogs (workloads) with a 3-month horizon
  • recruit key resources into the workstream where identified gaps exist
  • have no budget responsibilities

Essential and desirable criteria  

Essential

  • strong background and demonstrable experience in agile backlog management and prioritisation
  • experience managing multi-disciplinary teams in a programme delivery context
  • proven track record managing data migration as part of large scale IT transformation programmes 
  • a working knowledge and understanding of key data disciplines including data architecture, data quality, master data management, data governance and data analytics
  • experience and knowledge of CRM implementations
  • experience of negotiating requirements in a fast-moving agile environment
  • experience managing challenging stakeholders
  • experience coordinating and overseeing the work of third party suppliers
  • ability to translate jargon and technical language into plain English for non-technical audience

Desirable

  • experience delivering Microsoft Dynamics D365
  • experience working with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • a working knowledge of the UK pensions system
