Role

We're looking for an experienced Records Manager to provide high quality records management services for TPR including delivery of a records management strategy and function that meets TPR's digital approach and compliance with all TPR and legislative standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and strategic leadership for the records management function, managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and contractors (the National Archives, Information Commissioner's Office, Department for Work and Pensions, third-party suppliers).
  • Oversee and support the management of TPR's electronic and physical records.
  • Co-ordinate the development and review of records management policies.
  • Oversee and monitor the levels of compliance with TPR standards and legislative requirements at enterprise and operational level, providing assurance to Executive Committee and the Data Protection Officer (advising improvements when needed).
  • Provide subject matter expert advice and consultancy to the Senior Leadership Team across TPR on all aspects of records management and information management.
  • Have ownership of document management systems; system continuity, leading design, architecture, development and transition and advise on procurement and set up of new record and information management technologies.

Essential criteria

  • In-depth, specialist knowledge of records management related legislation: Public Records, Freedom of Information and Data Protection Act, GDPR and Department for Constitutional Affairs Code of Practice.
  • In-depth understanding of SharePoint e-mail and document management capability.
  • Extensive experience in overseeing records and information management services at an enterprise level with at least three years of experience.
  • Experience of establishing an enterprise-wide programme of delivery encompassing the design, development and implementation of a records and information management function.
  • Experience of records management and information life cycle creation, storage, security, retention and destruction of documents and records applied across legacy systems and new IT systems.
  • Experience of managing and developing staff and budget management.
