You must do this within 5 months after your staging date.
This is an online form for you to tell us how you have met your legal duties.
Even if someone else has helped you with your duties and may even be completing the declaration for you, it is your legal duty to make sure that the declaration is completed on time and the information entered is correct. If not you may be subject to fines.
If you have all the relevant information to hand it can take as little as 15 minutes to complete your declaration. To help you do this you should use the declaration checklist which shows you all of the information you will need and where you can get it from. You may also wish to use the supporting resources on this page.
Once you have completed your declaration of compliance you still have ongoing duties towards your staff.
Although you have five months to do this, we recommend that you complete your declaration as soon as possible after your staging date.
Before you can start your declaration of compliance you will need to log into the Government Gateway.
If you already have a Government Gateway user ID, log in and select automatic enrolment.
If you don’t have a Government Gateway user ID, you will need to create one. Once you have done this you will receive a message to say you’ve ‘registered’. This means that you have registered with the Government Gateway and can now enrol to start your declaration. This doesn't mean that you’ve completed your declaration. You still need to complete your declaration of compliance with The Pensions Regulator.
