Role

We are looking for a passionate, accomplished and experienced individual with a can-do attitude to join our team as the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead. You will be responsible for working across the organisation to drive forward key equality, diversity, and inclusion initiatives at a strategic level. You will lead on the development and delivery of TPRs Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and action plan, as well as develop processes for tracking and reporting progress against our aims and objectives.
You will build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders and will work in partnership with them to support them to identify, design, and deliver key initiatives which will further TPR’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion ambitions. You will also play a pivotal part in scoping out and defining future equality, diversity, and inclusion priorities.
You will have a key role in promoting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion to TPRs regulated community as an exceptional thought leader and will drive forward and advance TPR’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda internally, ensuring that diversity is embedded across the organisation.
Responsibilities
You will:
- work with Heads of to establish clear KPIs to measure progress against TPRs Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy, and lead the work needed to achieve those KPIs
- develop and implement standardised governance and managed reporting processes to track and report progress against the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy, actions plans and KPIs, identifying risks and mitigation action where appropriate
- proactively lead the implementation of TPR’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy and action plans, through a mixture of personal delivery and working collaboratively with others
- design, plan and deliver key strategic Equality, Diversity and Inclusion initiatives
- identify, advise and scope TPRs strategic future Equality, Diversity and Inclusion priorities, keep under review and refresh as appropriate TPRs Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and action plan
- ensure that strategic deliverables are compliant with employment and equality legislation
- provide subject matter expertise on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion to senior leaders
- work closely with the Director of People and Culture to identify and understand key issues within TPR and develop informed solutions
- work closely with analysts to assess and progress outcomes against Equality, Diversity and Inclusion objectives
- work collaboratively with the Executive Director Regulatory Policy and Analysis and Advice to co-create a strategy with TPRs regulated community that will seek to support and set targets for the development of more diverse boards and drive change in the wider industry
- partner with the Communications team to deliver engaging and consistent communications on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion activities, both internally and externally
- report regularly to the Executive Committee and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee on progress against the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and actions plans
- champion TPR’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda internally and externally
Essential criteria
- Strong subject matter expert, up to date with current thinking and external debates on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion along with an in-depth understanding of relevant legislation, including the Equality Act 2010 and the Public Sector Equality Duty.
- Proven impact-led experience of delivering and leading on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in organisations of similar size to TPR or larger.
- Proven experience in leading, co-creating and delivering strategic Equality, Diversity and Inclusion commitments to facilitate change.
- Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, engagement, and influencing skills, comfortable engaging at all levels with colleagues internally, our regulated community, government officials and other regulators.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate with impact through a range of media and the ability to present compelling arguments and engage senior leaders in the agenda.
- Analytical and critical thinking, confident with data analysis, adept at working with data to inform decision making and an ability to present evidence in a compelling way.
