Understanding your client's ongoing duties script
Enrolling staff into a workplace pension scheme is an essential part of automatic enrolment but it's only the start.
Automatic enrolment is an ongoing process, and your client will have to regularly complete certain tasks to comply with the law.
Some tasks will be familiar from the enrolment process, but others will be new, like regularly monitoring their staff’s ages and earnings to spot any changes to their eligibility, enrolling those who become eligible, and continuing to pay the correct contributions into their staff’s scheme.
All staff have the right to request to join, or leave a scheme at any time, and your client will have to manage this.
The rules for these requests are on our website.
During the process, your client must keep up-to-date records of the names and addresses of staff members put into a scheme, dates that money has been paid into the scheme, and records of request to join or leave the scheme.
Your client must keep these records for a certain amount of time.
