New features

A progress indicator

Tab: Table of contents

You can now see an overview of your progress using the ‘Status of sheet’ column. This indicates progress on each worksheet with the terms:

  • Information only
  • Not yet started
  • Not required
  • In progress
  • Complete

Improved features

Validation on error messages

Tabs: All tabs in the ‘Covenant information’ section

If you:

•    enter information into a cell which is not required
•    do not enter information into a cell which is required

you will see clear error messaging that will help you identify the problem and fix the issue before you upload the file.

Clarity about how the current level of investment risk has been determined

Tab: Statement of strategy

In the statement of strategy, you will see more clearly how the trustees have determined the current level of investment risk.

For example, if the scheme meets Fast Track criteria, you will see that it has been determined according to the Fast Track stress test. If the scheme is Bespoke, you will see which answer (such as Value at Risk) has been entered into question IRC 4.0.

Bug fixes

Removed wording

Tab: Statement of strategy

Fast Track schemes will now automatically see the wording “The discount rate is derived by: applying a premium to gilt yields.” on line 506.

Corrected naming on Pension Scheme Registry number

Tab: Start here

The Pension Scheme Registry (PSR) number is now named correctly in question SH 5.0.

Consistent decimal places in estimates of maturity

Tab: Funding and investment strategy

You will be able to better compare the estimates of maturity with and without accrual (in questions FIS 1:0 and FIS 4:0) as figures are now consistent to 1 decimal place.

Improved features

Amendments to the 'Scheme assumptions over the next 40 years' worksheet

You can now input a broader range of discount rate and assumption values, from -25% to 25%.

Bug fixes

Validation and error handling

You can review errors more consistently following improvements to the error messages:

  • There is additional logic to ensure you will see error messages when information is required but missing or present but not required.
  • Error messages are consistent across the spreadsheet.
  • Question IDs are included in relevant error messages. This means that, if information is required or is not required due to information you have entered for previous questions, you can find and amend the answers to those questions if needed.

Validation to ensure an organisation’s Companies House number, Charity number or address is entered

Tabs: Covenant summary information, Employer CF and liquid assets and Guarantees

For non-statutory employers, cash flow entities or guarantees, you are required to supply one of the following:

  • Companies House number
  • Charity number
  • Organisation's name and address

We have added validation to ensure one of the above is captured.

Validation of Companies House numbers

Tabs: Covenant summary information, Employer CF and liquid assets and Guarantees

You can now enter Companies House numbers in all valid formats.

Validation of dates

Dates are now stored as dates and not as date and time.

‘Statement of strategy’ worksheet

Tab: Statement of strategy

We have fixed some punctuation and layout issues on the statement produced from the statement of strategy worksheet, meaning that you will see improved consistency and layout if you use this new version.
