From trustee activities: decision to seek consent – go to 1
1.Trustee to explain modification to member and seek consent (Ref: Para. 33 to 35)
If member consents – go to 4
If representation – go to 3
If member refuses consent or if no response – go to 2
2. Trustee asks whether actuarial equivalence route available?
If yes – go to Flowchart 3 'Using the actuarial equivalence route' starting at *
If no – make no modification to this member’s subsisting rights (Ref: Para. 44)
3. Trustee to consider member’s representation and determine what action to take (Ref: Para. 38 to 42)
If representation and refusal – trustee makes no modification to this member’s subsisting rights (Ref: Para. 44)
If representation and consent – go to 4
4. Trustee to determine whether to proceed with proposed modification and notify member (Ref: Para. 70 to 75)
If decision not to proceed – make no modification to this member’s subsisting rights (Ref: Para. 44)
If decision to proceed or consent to proceed – scheme administration to implement modification within reasonable period (Ref: Para. 68)
